Pune Gangland: Pune’s Notorious Dudhani Gang Externed for 2 Years Over Rampant Crime
By India Crime Correspondent
PUNE, 8 December 2014
The Kondhwa police have taken decisive action by externing prominent gang leader Pintusingh Dudhani (26) and seven of his cohorts from Pune city and its surrounding districts.
This measure, effective from December 3, is aimed at curtailing the activities of the notorious Dudhani gang, which has been deeply involved in the local land mafia scene in the Kondhwa area, striking fear into the hearts of residents.
The Externment List
Among those included in the externment order are Pintusingh Dudhani, Nitin Arun Kasbe (25), Balvirsingh Dudhani (30), Avtarsingh Dudhani (32), Sikandarsingh Dudhani (33), Surjit Bhend (36), Medhsingh Bhond (36), and Mansur Nurwale (35), all hailing from Market Yard.
Police records indicate that both Pintusingh and his uncle Sikandar have a history of active involvement in the land mafia, their names intertwined with numerous cases, including a rioting incident registered with the Kondhwa police.
Excessive Measures to Combat Rising Menace
In response to a wave of killings that has plagued Pune and its surroundings, the Kondhwa police, motivated by a commitment to curb escalating crime, presented a proposal for the externment of the Dudhani gang.
Following due process, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone IV) Manoj Patil executed the externment decree on December 3, rendering the gang’s presence in the region null and void for a span of two years.
Enforcing Law and Restoring Trust
Providing insight into the rationale behind this action, Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Mokashi, who heads the Kondhwa police station, stated, “Over the past few years, the gang has indulged in a range of unlawful activities. Due to their intimidating tactics, people were hesitant to report their misdeeds openly.
Our decision to pursue their externment was driven by the desire to rebuild public confidence and security.”
Safeguarding the Community
SPI Rajendra Mokashi highlighted that the gang’s criminal activities had spanned multiple illegal domains, leaving residents feeling defenseless against their actions.
This pervasive fear within the community compelled the authorities to take measures that would effectively safeguard public safety and welfare.
