In a notable development, the Pune rural police have successfully taken into custody an individual with a history of criminal activities documented by the police.
The suspect has been identified as Nikhil Ankush Giri (22) from Ganeshangar, Oata Vasahat, Kothrud.
The arrest was executed by the local crime branch of the Pune rural police, led by inspector Gulabrao Deokar.
Police Operation and Weapon Seizure
Acting on valuable intelligence, police constables Ranjit Nigde and Ajay Bhujbal swiftly acted to apprehend the suspect Giri, who was reportedly carrying a weapon near Khadakwasla.
Setting up a well-coordinated trap, the police successfully nabbed Giri in possession of a country-made revolver and two cartridges in the vicinity of Khadakwasla.
The operation was executed under the supervision of Inspector Deokar.

Further investigations have brought to light Giri’s alleged involvement in a firing incident targeting a beer shop owner within the Kothrud area.
His reported attempt to harm the owner resulted in charges brought against him under rigorous sections of the Indian Arms Act.
Additionally, Giri has been identified as an associate of the notorious gangster Ganesh Marne.
Ongoing Investigations and Procurement of Weapon
The police force is currently engaged in investigations aimed at uncovering the origins of the weapon seized from Giri.
Authorities are also working to ascertain the details of his whereabouts following the firing incident in Kothrud and to identify any individuals who may have assisted him during that period.
Assistant Police Inspector Gajanan Ghadge, along with police constables Rajesh Pol, Vidhyadhar Nichit, Ravindra Deokar, and Sachin Nigde, form the dedicated investigative team assigned to the case.
