In a development that has raised eyebrows, gangster Gajanan Marne has made serious allegations against Yerwada Central Jail Superintendent UT Pawar.

Marne’s application, filed through his lawyer Vijaysinh Thombare, claims that the officer demanded both gifts and bribe money from him.

These allegations have prompted the Magistrate Court to take action, issuing a notice to Superintendent Pawar and requesting his written response regarding the matter.

Marne’s Incarceration and Application

Gajanan Marne currently resides in Yerwada Central Jail as an undertrial prisoner facing charges in a murder case.

Marne’s application highlighting the alleged misconduct of the jail officials has been filed with the court through his Lawyer Vijaysinh Thombare.

This application has brought to light his concerns over the treatment and practices within the prison.

Notice Issued and Legal Response

Taking the allegations seriously, the judge overseeing the case has issued a formal notice to Superintendent UT Pawar, asking for a detailed written response regarding the allegations made by Marne.

The notice signifies the court’s commitment to ensuring fairness and transparency in the administration of justice.

Concerns Raised by Marne

Marne’s application points to several key concerns. It accuses jail officials of failing to produce him before the court on scheduled dates, a practice that directly affects his legal proceedings.

Additionally, the application claims that Marne is being deprived of certain facilities that are typically afforded to prisoners.

Legal Recourse in High Court

Vijaysinh Thombare, Marne’s lawyer, has announced plans to escalate the matter further by filing a petition in the Bombay High Court.

This legal step underscores the gravity of the accusations and the intention to seek a thorough examination of the alleged misconduct within the prison system.
