In a significant turn of events, the MCOCA Special Court in Pune has handed down a verdict of acquittal for notorious gangster Gajanan Marne and 20 co-accused individuals in connection with the murder case of Amol Badhe. The court’s decision comes after a thorough examination of the evidence presented.
Fatal Gang War Incident
The case stems from the tragic demise of Amol Badhe, who met his untimely end on November 29, 2014.
The incident occurred during a violent gang conflict near Kalawati Temple on the Navi Peth crematorium road.
The prosecution alleged that the altercation led to Badhe’s demise, and subsequently, the police had confiscated a cache of items including three pistols, two cartridges, 10 mobile handsets, and vehicles valued at Rs 5.32 lakh.
Lack of Substantiating Evidence
The presiding judge of the MCOCA Special Court, A Y Thatte, rendered the judgment that ultimately cleared Gajanan Marne and the other 20 accused individuals.
The decision rested upon the perceived lack of substantial evidence linking the accused to the crime.
Lawyers, namely Advocates Sudhir Shah, Vijay Singh Thombre, Vipul Dhushing, and Siddharth Patil, presented the case on behalf of the accused individuals.
