Pune Gangland: Former Ravi Pujari Gang Member Apprehended with Illegal Firearms in Pune

In a significant operation, the Crime Branch of Pune City Police has apprehended Asif Yusuf Khan (38), a former member of the notorious Ravi Pujari gang, who was discovered to be in possession of firearms. The arrest was made based on information received by Assistant Inspector Sunil Gawli.
Successful Trap Operation
A crime branch team, under the leadership of Inspector Satish Shinde, strategically set a trap and successfully apprehended Khan near Zensar company on Kharadi Bypass Road, Chandan Nagar, on Tuesday.
During the search of his person, the police team recovered a double-bore countrymade gun, a pistol, an empty magazine, and eight live cartridges.
A press release issued by the Crime Branch highlighted Khan’s previous affiliation with the underworld figure Ravi Pujari.
Criminal Involvements
Khan’s criminal history is extensive. He was reportedly implicated in the 2008 shooting targeting Bhumiraj builder in Navi Mumbai and the firing incident at Ekta Builder’s office in Kondhwa in the same year.
Moreover, he has faced charges under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act.
After obtaining bail in the Kondhwa case two years ago, Khan resumed his criminal activities.
It was noted that he severed ties with the Pujari gang a few months ago and joined the Suresh Pujari gang, along with his associate Sadiq Bangali.
Khan’s record shows involvement in seven serious criminal cases in the past.
