A builder in Pune has raised a formal complaint with the Pune Police Crime Branch, alleging that gangsters connected to the infamous Dawood Ibrahim gang have unlawfully occupied his land plot situated on a hill slope near Bibwewadi.

The builder further asserts that despite repeated complaints to local police officials at the Marketyard police station, no action has been taken against the gangsters.

Builder’s Stand Against Threats

Rajkumar Lodha (60), a Sukhsagar Nagar resident, has submitted this complaint to Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ashok Morale.

In the complaint, Lodha details an encounter at the Marketyard police station on July 19, when one of the suspects from the illegal occupiers confronted him.

The suspect claimed affiliation with the Dawood Ibrahim gang and issued a warning to resolve the matter promptly, or face severe consequences.

Unlawful Occupation and Builder’s Response

Lodha’s complaint reveals, “I own an open land plot near Bibwewadi, registered under my wife’s name. The plot is situated on a hill slope, making it unsuitable for construction. Therefore, we have secured permission from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to lease the land for commercial hoardings.”

The builder further explains, “During the lockdown period, unidentified individuals encroached upon the land, erecting a steel shed without authorization. On July 19, I approached Marketyard police officials to file a complaint, but no action was taken against the suspects. Consequently, I sought intervention from Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ashok Morale, who instructed Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5) Suhas Bavache to address the matter. DCP Bavache then directed the Marketyard police to initiate appropriate actions.”

Builder’s Frustration with Police Response

Lodha’s frustration with the police response grows evident as he shares, “Upon receiving DCP Bavache’s instructions, I revisited the Marketyard police station to inquire about the progress of the case. However, instead of addressing the complaint, local police officers advised me to downplay the situation.”

Official Statement and Ongoing Investigation

Additional CP Morale assures, “The case is under investigation, and necessary measures will be taken against the individuals involved.”
