In a disconcerting turn of events, the Hadapsar police stumbled upon the lifeless body of Suresh Renkuta, the city vice-president of the Akhil Bharitya Sena, from a field in Manjari on a somber Friday evening.
Affiliation with Notorious Party:
Renkuta’s political association was with the Akhil Bharitya Sena, a political entity established by the infamous criminal-turned-politician Arun Gawli.
The shocking discovery followed a missing person report lodged by Renkuta’s family with the Yerawada police after he failed to return home on January 26.
Identification and Investigation:
DCP (Zone V) Namrata Patil provided insights, stating, “We managed to establish Renkuta’s identity through his attire, motorcycle, and other distinctive features. Renkuta and a companion had visited a local bar, where a disagreement with a waiter escalated. The situation took a violent turn, resulting in the waiter and other staff members assaulting him with sticks.”
In Custody for Interrogation:
Prompt action by the authorities led to the detention of both the waiter involved in the altercation and the proprietor and manager of the establishment for further questioning.
Preliminary Inquiry:
As investigations continue, the circumstances surrounding Suresh Renkuta’s untimely demise remain under scrutiny. The police are diligently piecing together the events leading up to the unfortunate incident.
