In a resolute move to quell the influence of gang-related activities within the Pune city and its district, the Pune police have recently invoked externment orders against 13 individuals associated with the notorious Nilesh Ghaywal gang.

This punitive measure, lasting for a duration of one year, encompasses various members, including none other than Ghaywal’s own brother, Sachin Bansilal Ghaywal (33), a resident of new DP Road, Kothrud.

Roster of Criminals

The list of individuals subjected to this external banishment encompasses Dnyaneshwar Dagdu Tonde (26) from Mulshi, Vijay Maruti Chaudhari (35) from Kelewadi in Kothrud, Pankaj Ram Phatak (19) from Shastrinagar in Kothrud, Mangesh Bhagwan Kondhalkar (25), Vikrant Chandrakant Kokate (29), Umesh Mohan Kirve (31), Rupesh Kisan Amrale (25), all hailing from Dnyaneshwar Colony in Kothrud. Criminal Histories

The criminal records of these individuals are marred by a slew of serious offenses including murder, attempted murder, body offenses, dacoity, extortion, robberies, and illegal possession of weapons.

The police assert that the externment is a necessary step to maintain law and order within the city limits.

Police Directive

Deputy Commissioner of Police MB Tambade articulated that the primary purpose of the externment is to safeguard the city’s peace and order.

By enforcing this measure, the police intend to prevent further escalation of gang-related conflicts and maintain a secure urban environment.

Inter-Gang Enmity

The conflict between gangster Nilesh Ghaywal and gangster Gajanan Marne has been marked by animosity.

In 2014, Marne orchestrated the murder of two members affiliated with the Ghaywal gang.

A high-ranking officer from the crime branch asserts that the externment of these individuals is anticipated to play a pivotal role in curtailing gang clashes within the city, further enhancing public safety.
