In a significant legal development, the Pune crime branch has officially levied charges under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against gangster Shekhar Wankhede and seven accomplices.
The chargesheet, presenting a comprehensive case, was submitted before the esteemed special judge R.Y. Shaikh.
Wide Range of Accused Encompassed in Legal Action
This chargesheet encompasses not only Shekhar Wankhede but also seven other individuals: Sachin Madavi, Narayan Dabhade, Guddu Yadav, Taj Khan, Sanjay Pawar, Mohsin Mulani, and Raju Bhalerao.
The charges revolve around their alleged involvement in orchestrating an organized crime syndicate that has spanned Pune city, Pune rural, and Aurangabad over the course of a decade.
Nigdi Police Case Spurs Investigation
The foundation for these charges was laid by the Nigdi police, who registered a case invoking the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against this gang.
The investigation was transferred to the capable hands of Assistant Commissioner of Police Sangramsinh Nishandar.
