At around midnight, he went to the police station and surrendered.
A chill ran down the spines of the police officers when a ‘bhagva’ clad in his 70’s claimed that he had performed a human sacrifice to end the COVID-19 pandemic.
The previous night, he saw Brahmani Devi in his dreams who ordered him to sacrifice a human to stop the pandemic from spreading any further.
The police has another angle to the story.
The police say that he has confessed after interrogation that he killed his friend because he ate his dinner.
The police say that they both entered in a quarrel as his friend ate his dinner, when he picked up a sharp weapon and with a swift movement beheaded his friend.
Some residents of the area where they belonged say that he and his friend had long standing disputed over a mango orchard in the village.
His name is Sansari Ojha and is 72 years old who is a priest and is the accused.
His friend’s name was Saroj Kumar Pradhan and was 52 years old.
