Pune Gangland: Madhya Pradesh-based Gang Busted for Illegal Weapon Supply; 24 Pistols Worth Rs 12 Lakh Seized

In a remarkable operation, the police station team in Pimpri-Chinchwad successfully apprehended a gang involved in the supply of firearms.

This action led to the largest confiscation of firearms in the region, as 24 country-made pistols and 38 cartridges valued at Rs 12 lakh were recovered from sources in Madhya Pradesh.

Unveiling the Gang’s Operations

The police claim to have dismantled a gang consisting of 12 individuals engaged in the illegal trade of firearms. The operation unveiled their modus operandi and their engagement with potential buyers.

The accused employed a novel approach by frequently commenting on pistol videos posted on YouTube.

In their comments, they invited interested parties to get in touch with them for firearm acquisition.

Arrest and Initial Seizure

The investigation commenced with the arrest of Rupesh Patil in the Bhosari area.

The police acted on a tip-off and successfully apprehended Patil, confiscating four pistols and four cartridges from his possession.

Subsequently, Assistant Police Inspector Siddheshwar Kailase and his team pursued the leads, extending their investigation to Madhya Pradesh.

Prime Accused Uncovered

In the course of their diligent investigation, the police managed to identify and apprehend the key figures behind the illegal firearms trade.

The prime accused, Bablusingh alias Roni Attar Singh Barnala and Kalu alias Sushil Pavara, were the central figures responsible for the distribution of pistols.

Multi-Location Raids in Madhya Pradesh

Further efforts led the police to conduct raids at multiple locations in Madhya Pradesh, resulting in the seizure of 24 country-made pistols and 38 live cartridges with an estimated worth of Rs 12 lakh.

The arrested individuals, including Nanya alias Umesh Raikar, Rahul Walhekar, and Dhiraj Dhagare, were previously known to law enforcement due to their involvement in various criminal activities.

Sophisticated Smuggling Techniques

The gang employed various tactics, including leveraging social media platforms and connections within Yerawada Prison, to facilitate the smuggling of pistols from Madhya Pradesh to Pune.

Notably, the gang utilized YouTube as a medium to promote and facilitate their illegal operations.

Continued Investigation

Bhosari Police is actively pursuing the case, further delving into the intricate network of illegal firearm distribution and exploring potential leads related to the gang’s activities.
