A significant crackdown unfolds as law enforcement authorities in Pune wield the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against a gang of nine individuals.
The group, spearheaded by Aarti Misal, stands accused of orchestrating a narcotics distribution network, involving substances like brown sugar and charas.
Substantial Seizures: Contraband and Assets Confiscated
The operation’s aftermath saw a substantial haul as police confiscated a cache of illegal substances, including brown sugar and charas.
A Swift car, an Activa bike, cash, and jewelry, collectively valued at over Rs. 6 lakh, were seized by the police. The accumulative nature of the seizures underscores the scale of the gang’s illicit activities.
Gang’s Chain of Arrests: Key Figures Nabbed
The wheels of justice have been set in motion with a series of arrests targeted at disbanding the gang.
Two members, Gopinath Misal and Hussain Sheikh, were apprehended on December 15 and subsequently placed under police custody.
The remaining five, encompassing Aarti Misal, Pooja Misal, Nilofar Shaikh, Azhar Shaikh, and Rocksingh Kalyani, were apprehended on January 7.
The pursuit continues for the arrest of Ayesha Shaikh and Julykhabi Shaikh, two individuals yet to be taken into custody.
